Inspiring Dancers of Christ (IDOC) Dance Studio:  Grand Opening August 7, 2010

IDOC Dance grand opens with a “Back-to-school Jam”; Jointly Sponsors with other city organizations

Desoto, Texas July 9, 2010:  IDOC Dance is the newest Christian-based dance studio serving the Southwest: Desoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, and Lancaster. IDOC Dance is a Christian based dance studio that educates students in a number of dance genres and techniques.  IDOC distinguishes our dance program by offering excellence in arts education, without the compromise of a secular approach.   IDOC Dance faculty include three former solo-ist from Dallas Black Dance Theater (Ramona Jackson, Lawonda Hunter, and Jennifer Hobson), Angela Dearman (Alvin Ailey Certified Dancer),  all faculty are dance graduates of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (Ebony Rodriquez, Ariel VanZandt, Elizabeth Espie), all faculty are seasoned  professional dancers and performers, and all faculty either hold professional degrees or are current students finishing degrees in dance. The Artistic Director holds a Masters in Education Degree, is a certified secondary dance teacher,  holds Bachelor’s in Dance from TWU, and is currently finishing a second masters degree. IDOC faculty have over 60 years of combined teaching experience.  IDOC Staff include seasoned professionals who teach adult classes in Jazzercise, Pilates, Adult Hip Hop, Bootcamp, and Swing-Out classes.  IDOC has a class for everyone. Children’s classes include classes in modeling, ballet, jazz, praise, hip hop, tap, creative dance, modern, and African dance.

IDOC Dance will grand open August 7, 2010, with a back to school extravaganza, hosted by City Stream Live, an Executive Marketing & Events Group, will including sponsors from organizations around the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Free services will be offered for Desoto ISD students: free haircuts, free fitness/dance classes, free school supplies, food and entertainment, and kids activities. Other vendors will be present to offer discounted services families.
